Tasting & Winemaking Notes:
The wine has remained in stainless steel since fermentation, preserving vibrant fruit-forward character and freshness. For additional oak expression, samples are available that were transferred from this same base wine and aged 6 months in French oak.
Winemaking was led by Susan Meyer (RustRidge Winery) for the stainless steel lot, and Jeff Smith (Dusinberre Cellars; formerly Schramsberg, V. Sattui) for the bottled oak-aged samples. Both are available to discuss the style and history of the wine with interested buyers.
Vineyard Background:
Boodeaux Vineyards was established in 1998 by Scott Becker, who worked alongside Jeff Smith under the Boodeaux label. Over the years, wines from this vineyard have received awards at the California State Fair and San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, and fruit has been sold to respected producers such as RD Winery, Signorello Estate, Scotto Cellars, and Dusinberre Cellars. The vineyard, now managed by the second generation, continues to deliver structured, classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
