Two Moon Vineyard is located on a mountainside, atop McCray Ridge, off Sweetwater Springs Rd, between Guerneville and Healdsburg. The Merlot vines were planted in 1989 on AXR rootstock, and have been carefully maintained ever since, assuring the highest quality fruit. At 1,700', we are always above the fog line with shallow, somewhat rocky soil, resulting in lower yields of smaller fruit, high in the tannins needed for wine structure. The rainwater pond that gives the name to the vineyard assures that our fruit produces wines deep in color and robust in complexity that will age well. Our wine first appeared under our own label, McCray Ridge, but since my husband died, we have sold to Sonoma County wineries including: Palmeri, August Briggs, and Williamson.
