The soil is the result of a cataclysmic landslide that cascaded rocks and volcanic soil down onto one spot of the valley below. Surrounded by normal valley floor loam, the Michael Mara Vineyard is situated on a unique lobe of rocks and red soil. Vines: 100% Olmo clone Chardonnay, also called clone 4 in California or 108 in Oregon (the clone with the highest natural acidity that we are aware of). Tasting Notes: Wine produced from the Michael Mara Vineyard is characterized by White peach, toasted almond, marshmallow, and ripe pear greet the nose, while the palate brings plenty of weight, length, and richness. This is not manufactured to be showy; however, its opulence is natural, endemic to the fruit rather than created in the cellar. Through it all, there is a distinct mineral core of rock dust, which is the distinguishing characteristic of the vineyard.

A superb growing season with a cool, dry summer and long, dry hang in the fall graced us with our finest harvest since replanting in 2019. Lytton Manor Vineyard is situated directly between Ridge Winery's century-old Lytton Springs East vineyard and their expansive Lytton Springs West vineyard. Collina De Bella is a small family-owned vineyard in eastern Solano County in the Winters Highlands AVA. The Tannat vines are from clone 474, an ENTAV selection from France on 5A rootstock planted in 2001. Sustainably grown on a steep hillside, all hand-tended, leaf-thinned, and hand-harvested. Harvest typically mid-September.

This fruit produced wines that won Double Gold and Best of Class for Sunset Magazine International Wine Competition and Double Gold for the San Francisco Chronicle last year. Rare legacy rootstock from the Lillie Langtry vineyard (Block 3) and 5A root stalk (Block 2) planted in 1985 and 2001, respectively. All hand-tended and hand-harvested on a steep hillside. Harvest typically mid-to-late-August.
