Classic RRV wine from well-known, high-end Woolsey Rd. Pinot Noir vineyard. Blend of 115 and 777 clones. Great nose, flavor and structure. The winery - Papapietro Perry Winery - just has a bit too much of it! Wine had some time in 35% new Francois Frere; now aging in neutral Francois Frere barrels.

This 2023 Malbec is produced from Rogue Valley fruit grown in an immaculate vineyard west of Talent. Aged 12 month in a blend of French and American oak barrels with approximately 12% new oak. This Malbec leads with aromas of violets & lavender, and is bursting with flavors of fresh Bing-cherry and luscious Marion-berry. Finished data on wine is 13.2 ABV, 6.45g/L TA and 3.58 pH

Dry, crisp, stony, aromatic rose. Numbers -- 11.8% alc, 6.9g/L TA, 3.33pH, 0.28g/L VA, 1.25g/L malic, 1.7g/L glu/fru. A little more body than the alc might suggest, but still a quaffer. Picked early; i.e., not a saignee. A mix of barrel and tank ferments. 10% each of chard and viognier. Malo blocked. Isinglass fined. Sterile filtered. Bottled in flint Burgundy and unbranded Trefinos (agglomerated, supercritical CO2 treated, compare to DIAM) corked. No capsules. Plain white boxes. Pickup on Treasure Island. 270 cases. $72/cs.
