Hi!

I saw your listing for the '26 St. Helena Chardonnay — eighty tons is a serious block, and placing a block that size in this market is a serious problem. I'd like to propose a way to solve it in whole or in part.

I'm the GM at VintEdge, a licensed winery and custom crush facility on Gateway Road in Napa. We have tank capacity for white fruit in the early harvest window and an active program built for exactly this situation: fruit that is too good to drop and too plentiful to place at a fair cash price this year.

The structure is simple and we put it in writing. You deliver at no cost to you at delivery. We make the wine. As it sells, our production costs come out of proceeds first; you then recover your certified farming costs through a 50/50 split; and above full cost recovery you keep 20% of everything, uncapped. You can split the block — sell what the cash market takes at your price, and put the unsold balance into the program rather than letting it hang. On eighty tons, the difference between dropping fruit and recovering farming cost is not a small number.

If you'd like, I'll walk you through the math on whatever tonnage you think may go unplaced, and you're welcome to see the facility — we're just down valley.

I saw your listing for the two Sauvignon Blanc blocks off Hoffman Lane — the 1997 clone 1/101-14 planting in particular caught my eye. That's exactly the kind of established Yountville fruit we like to work with.

I'm the GM at VintEdge, a licensed winery and custom crush facility on Gateway Road in Napa. I want to be straightforward about why I'm reaching out: if you place the fruit at your asking price with a cash buyer, that's the right outcome and I'd wish you well. But this market has left a lot of good Napa fruit unsold late into the season, and we've built a program for exactly that situation.

The short version: we take delivery and make the wine, at no cost to you at delivery. As the wine sells, our production costs come out of proceeds first, then you and we split revenue 50/50 until you've recovered your certified farming costs in full, and above that you keep 20% of everything, uncapped. If the wine sells well, that can exceed a discounted cash price; the trade is that payment follows the wine rather than the scale ticket. It's designed so a grower with good fruit and no buyer recoups cost and keeps a stake in the upside instead of dropping crop.

If it would be useful to keep this in your back pocket as harvest approaches, I'm happy to walk you through the numbers — the math is simple and we put it all in writing. And we're ten minutes away if you'd ever like to see the facility.
