Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Wine Shop Clerk to join our team. This role involves engaging with customers to help them find the perfect wine, maintaining an organized and visually appealing store, and assisting with wine classes and events. A passion for wine and a willingness to learn are essential!
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Assistance: Help customers select wines based on their preferences, food pairings, and occasions. Provide recommendations and descriptions of wines in the shop.
Merchandise Presentation: Maintain attractive and organized product displays to enhance the customer shopping experience.
Wine Education & Events: Assist in organizing and promoting wine tastings and special events to engage customers and boost sales.
Stocking & Replenishment: Ensure shelves and displays are well-stocked, rotated, and organized for optimal presentation.
Store Maintenance: Keep the store clean, organized, and welcoming, ensuring a pleasant environment for customers.
Product Knowledge: Stay up to date on wine offerings, regions, and trends to confidently assist customers with their selections.
Store Operations & Communication: Keep the store manager updated on all matters affecting efficient and safe store operations, including inventory concerns, safety issues, and customer feedback.
Qualifications:
Passion for wine with a desire to learn (wine knowledge or certifications are a plus!)
Friendly and approachable personality with strong customer service skills
Ability to lift and carry wine cases (up to 40 lbs)
Comfortable standing for extended periods
Retail or hospitality experience preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
