Warren Winiarski Wine Writer Collection Fellow Library of the University of California, Davis The Warren Winiarski Wine Writer Collection Fellow is a two-year appointment responsible for curating, managing, and promoting the library’s wine writer collections. The position affords a unique opportunity to an individual intimate with of the world of wine, at home in the academic library, and curious about technologies that connect collections to new users and new research. The Fellow has the scholarly, technical, and interpersonal skills to identify and engage new authors for the collection, appraise their materials, work with writers currently represented in the collection, and steward donors who support the collection. The Fellow is also responsible for community outreach and promotion programs that increase awareness of the wine writer collections, and promote their use to new audiences, including in research, education, and industry. Round Pond Winery in Rutherford is looking for cellar (+lab) workers to join our 2018 harvest team. Applicants would be exposed to all aspects of harvest and would be working with some of the best vineyards in the Rutherford appellation. Attention to detail, passion for making world class wines, energetic, and a positive attitude are all attributes that we are looking for in an intern. OBJECTIVE: Work directly with the winemaking team performing all tasks related to harvest, while furthering one’s understanding of wine production. Cellardoor winery in Lincolnville, Maine located on the scenic mid-coast is seeking harvest interns for the 2018 season (Sept 1 - mid November). Interns will be part of a very small team and can expect to be involved with all aspects of the harvest production process. Applicants should expect to work 40+ hr/week for several weeks straight, including weekends. Interns will gain experience making still, sparkling, and late harvest wines working with vinifera grapes shipped from Washington and California and hybrid grapes grown on our estate vineyard. Job duties include, but are not limited to: • Processing and sorting fruit • Fermentation/cap management (pump-overs) • Lab analysis • Additions • Barrel Work • Vineyard sampling and analysis The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and posses a strong desire to learn. Winemakers LLC is looking for a seasonal viticulture intern to work in our vineyards located in the Willamette Valley in Oregon (Marion and Yamhill Counties). Internship would start in June and extend through the end of harvest, typically around the middle of October.
