The Role
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a critical growth role at Modern Cooperage. You will be responsible for identifying, connecting, and engaging potential winery and distillery partners, generating qualified opportunities that feed our sales pipeline.
This largely remote position combines strategic prospecting, relationship building, and creative outreach. You’ll work closely with senior sales leadership to help shape market expansion efforts and be on the front lines of Modern Cooperage’s growth story.

Key Responsibilities
Strategically research and target wineries, distilleries, brokers, and industry decision-makers across key markets.

Execute multi-channel outreach (email, phone, LinkedIn, events) to generate qualified interest in Modern Cooperage barrels.

Build and maintain a strong network of industry contacts to support long-term pipeline growth.

Qualify leads effectively and collaborate with Account Executives to convert opportunities into sales.

Contribute to market intelligence by sharing insights on buyer trends, competitive positioning, and regional dynamics.

Accurately manage leads, activities, and outcomes within the CRM to support forecasting and team alignment.

Act as a brand ambassador, communicating Modern Cooperage’s value proposition with clarity and professionalism.

What You Bring
2+ years of business development, sales, or lead generation experience, ideally in the wine, spirits, or related industries.

Proven ability to hit or exceed lead generation and pipeline goals in a high-growth environment.

Strong networking skills and comfort initiating conversations with C-level executives, winemakers, and procurement teams.

Strategic thinker who can balance volume outreach with targeted, relationship-driven prospecting.

Self-starter with excellent time management and comfort working remotely.

Strong skills with CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar).

A passion for the wine & spirits industry and an interest in the evolving cooperage landscape.
