This position will run from August with potential for work through December. We have vineyards as far south as Santa Rita and as far north as Mendocino. At three we produce several red and white varietals including Zinfandel, Carignane, and Mataro from the Oakley are of Contra Costa County. Many of our vineyards are 70 to 120 years old and are dry farmed. Under the direction of the small winemaking team, the harvest interns will gain a rich experience working in all aspects of the winery. Our interns will get to participate in assessing grape ripeness of vineyard samples, crushing, monitoring fermentations (including pumping over tanks, sensory analysis, brix and temperature analysis), pressing, lab analysis (pH, TA, SO2), and barrel topping. You will gain valuable, hands-on experience as you help us produce great wine!
