HR Assistant (25-30 hours per week, nonexempt)
Benefits: (for full time, 30 hours per week, offered after 90 days): Medical/dental/vision,
SIMPLE IRA with Match, and 5 paid sick days. 60 hours of Vacation offered after 12 months
of continuous employment.
Role Description: Carneros Vineyard Management is seeking a team member who can
own multiple office responsibilities with a focus on payroll processing and reporting. Key
duties include:
• Enter in timesheets and process weekly staff payroll using QuickBooks & ADP,
averaging 50 staff each week (up to 80 during harvest). Log QuickBooks entries &
maintain tracking reports for employee/employer retirement contributions, health
care expenses, and payroll taxes on a Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly basis.
• Support office manager with staff onboarding, offboarding, and employee health
and safety compliance tracking and reporting across paper and electronic
systems, including but not limited to maintaining OSHA 300 logs, tracking health
and safety trainings for staff and supervisors, and updating the employee handbook,
as needed.
• Assist Office Manager with ongoing billing and QuickBooks data entry.
• Perform data entry and submit on-time reports to maintain compliance across
contracts, with guidance from director of operations and/or owner.
• Provide general office support including but not limited to maintaining office
organization, filing, answering phones, processing and sending mail, and managing
shared office email.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Dropbox, especially, Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with MacOS/Apple computers.
• Ability to work each Monday for payroll processing—including holidays.
Preferred skills
• QuickBooks experience preferred.
• Previous experience with Payroll processing for agricultural workers preferred.
